Wagering Wednesday

3wagering wednesday (2)Happy hump day my homeys! We’ve made it half way once again and I am soooo looking forward to this Saturday. Being such a huge football fan and being from the south, obviously I love the SEC. The SEC is the strongest conference in the nation, in my opinion, and this weekend has some of the toughest match ups this season. So, with that said, here’s a Special All SEC Edition of Wagering Wednesday.

1. Vanderbilt @ Army : COMMODORES

2. Houston @ Miss State : COUGARS

3. Georgia @ Tennessee : BULLDOGS

4. Kentucky @ South Carolina : GAMECOCKS

5. Auburn @ Arkansas : TIGERS

6. Alabama @ Ole Miss : REBELS

7. Florida @ LSU : GATORS

There’s my Special All SEC Edition of Wagering Wednesday. Regardless of who you pull for, these are going to be some great games. And as always, I might be wrong…..but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Wagering Wednesday

3wagering wednesday (2)Well, we’re half way there once again. It’s hump day and I am in desperate need of a weekend. I am mentally exhausted. But it’s time for Wagering Wednesday. Over the past couple weeks I haven’t fared very well with my picks, so sorry Javi, I’m going back to picking games straight up. After all, the year we’ve had so far, even the so-called experts couldn’t make these picks. So enough excuses.

In College Football:

1. Georgia over LSU

2. Miami over Oklahoma

3.Tennessee over Auburn

4. Alabama over Kentucky

5. California over USC

In the NFL:

1. Ravens over Patriots

2. Bills over Dolphins

3. Cowboys over Broncos

4. Steelers over Chargers

5. Vikings over Packers

So there you have ‘em, My-Five. And as always, I might be wrong….but, well based on the past couple weeks go ahead and bet on it. But just this once. Good luck.

There’s MY-FIVE, college and pro. Good luck. And as always, I might be wrong …… but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Wagering Wednesday

3wagering wednesday (2)Happy Hump Day everyone! You know what means. That’s right. It’s Wagering Wednesday! For the record, this information is for entertainment purposes only. I would never condone gambling. Whatever. I realized that I had not given my preseason predictions for college football or the NFL, so I’m going to do that today also. Let’s get started.

I was asked by a friend to start picking the games versus the spread. So since I am so eager to please. Here we go. These are in no particular order. Let’s start with the NCAA.

  1. USC @ Ohio State > USC -7
  2. Miss. State @ Auburn > Over 41
  3. SMU @ UAB > UAB -12
  4. Notre Dame @ Michigan > Notre Dame -3
  5. Clemson @ Georgia Tech > Georgia Tech -5

Now for the NFL.

  1. Chargers @ Raiders > Chargers -9
  2. Bills @ Patriots > Patriots -10
  3. Vikings @ Browns > Vikings -4
  4. Lions @ Saints > Under 49
  5. Lions @ Saints > Saints -13

Now for the NCAA predictions. I’m only doing the BCS Conferences because ….. well, do you really have to ask?

  1. SEC – Florida over Ole Miss
  2. ACC – Georgia Tech
  3. Big 12 – Texas
  4. Big 10 – Penn State
  5. Big East – Cincinnati
  6. PAC  10 – USC

Florida will play USC in the National Championship Game and win its 3rd in the last 4 years.

Now for the NFL. Starting with the NFC.

  1. NFC East – Philadelphia Eagles
  2. NFC North – Minnesota Vikings
  3. NFC South – Atlanta Falcons
  4. NFC West – Arizona Cardinals
  5. NFC Wild Cards – NY Giants & Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  6. NFC Champs – Philadelphia Eagles

For the AFC.

  1. AFC East – New England Patriots
  2. AFC North – Pittsburgh Steelers

  4. AFC West – San Diego Chargers
  5. AFC Wild Cards – Miami Dolphins & Tennessee Titans
  6. AFC Champs – Pittsburgh Steelers

I’m picking the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl XLIV in Miami. Being a Buccaneers fan, you can understand how hard it is to say that.

Well, there you have it. MY-FIVE from both the NCAA and the NFL, and my predictions for the 2009/2010 NCAA and NFL seasons. Sound off and let me know what you think. And as always, I might be wrong ….. but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Wagering Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!!! You know what that means. It’s Wagering Wednesday. Time to take a look at some upcoming games and make a few picks. The last of the NFL preseason games end Friday and the college season officially starts Thursday night with the bulk of the games coming on Saturday. So we’re going to do things a little bit differently.
Thursday night the Detroit Lions take on the Buffalo Bills …. and who cares? The Philadelphia Eagles go to NY to play the Jets. McNabb is not scheduled to play, but even without McNabb, I see the Eagles winning this one. To keep from this post dragging out to long, I will not go to deep into details, but here are the rest of my picks. I’m taking the Jaguars, Falcons, Bears, Saints, and Titans at Home, and the Giants, Colts, Steelers, Chiefs, and Cardinals away.
I think Friday night looks pretty cut and dry. I’m taking Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and San Diego at home.
With so many NCAA games on Saturdays and NFL games on Sundays, I’m going to start picking my top 5 NCAA and top 5 NFL games of the week. This weekend (including Monday) I’m picking Boise State over Oregon, Oklahoma State over Georgia, Alabama over Virginia Tech, Florida State over Miami, and Ole Miss over Memphis. The NFL games will start next Thursday.
Good luck on this weekend, and as always, I might be wrong ….. but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Wagering Wednesday

Happy Hump-Day Homeys! You know what that means. It’s time to take a look ahead at a few of this weekends games and make some picks. So let’s belly-up to the table and go “All-In“.

Thursday night the Jacksonville Jaguars head to Philly to take on the Beagles Eagles. This will be Vick’s first chance under center since he was under Big Willie, his cell mate. He’s expected to play about a half. A short week for the Jags + home cooking in Philly = Eagles win. Also, Thursday, the Dolphins will take the short trip North to Raymond James to battle the Buccs. GO BUCCS!
Friday night I’m taking a look at the Cardinals hosting the Packers. I’m picking the Cardinals. Also on the plate for Friday, the Patriots at the Redskins. This one should be a little better game. Take the Pats.
Saturday has several games. My “GAME OF THE WEEK” is the San Diego Chargers vs the Atlanta Falcons. This should be a good one all the way around. Rivers/Ryan; Tomlinson/Turner; Sproles/Norwood; Gates/Gonzalez; Chambers/White. WOW! Too bad the good only lasts the first half. I’m leaning Falcons.
Sunday nights game has all the drama. Well, they want you to think there’s drama. And even if there is drama, who cares? This is football, not bingo down at the VFW. Cutler waltzes back into Denver with the Bears. Wake me up when this one’s over. If you are picking though, I’d take the Bears. Nascar is taking the week off and will return next week at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Monday night our hometown Hayden Wildcats have there season opener vs local rival, the Corner Yellow Jackets. I’m takin’ the Wildcats. You guessed that though, right? Good luck Brady, we love you and are proud of you!
And finally, Monday Night Favreball Football. The Vikings invade Houston. Brett Favre plays his second game in purple. I’m not drinking the Favre/Viking kool-aid ….. yet …..however, if, and I said IF, Favre is close to his old form, Peterson stays healthy, and the defense does as expected …… it could be a long season for the NFC. Now Viking fans, I’m not saying buy plane tickets to Miami for the Super Bowl just yet. But you do have alot to look forward to. Oh yeah, I’d take the Vikings Monday night too.
Well, these are my picks for this, the third week of the preseason. And as always, I might be wrong ……. but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Wagering Wednesday

Ok, today is Wagering Wednesday. Although this is still the preseason in the NFL, there are a few games worth taking a look at. Now, obviously unless you REALLY have a gambling problem, there aren’t games worth betting on (NFL anyway). So with that said, here we go.

Game one worth watching Thursday is the Philadelphia Eagles @ the Indianapolis Colts. Michael Vick is scheduled to make his debut with the Eagles. I guess we will see how well the Penal system weight training program works.
Game two worth watching Friday is the Kansas City Chiefs @ the Minnesota Vikings. Brett Favre is penciled in for the start. I for one am anxious to see what kind of shape he is in. Also, I’m very eager to find out how his presence will effect Adrian Peterson’s performance. It should keep defenses from stacking 8 in the box and open up some running lanes.
Game three worth watching Saturday is my Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ the Jacksonville Jaguars. These two rivals always play hard regardless of whether it is preseason or post season. GO BUCS!!!
Monday Night Football this week will give us a preview of the NY Jets @ the Baltimore Ravens. I haven’t had a chance to see USC’s Mark “Dirty” Sanchez take a snap yet, so I’ll definitely be watching this one even if “Jaws” is one of the top 10 most annoying color commentators ever.
For you Nascar fans, Saturday night is one of my favorite races of the year. The night race at Bristol! So turn on the lights, fire up those engines, and I hope you’re paid up on your auto insurance, cause it’s gonna be checkers or wreckers as we close in on the chase. My top five picks to finish near the front are 1. Dale Jr.; 2. Jeff Gordon; 3. Tony Stewart; 4. Carl Edwards; and 5. Kyle Busch.
Last but not least, my son Brady has his first Junior High football game Thursday night. It will be our hometown Hayden Wildcats hosting the North Jefferson Blue Devils. Although I’m a Blue Devil alumni, I’m taking the Wildcats. Good luck, I’m proud of you Brady, and GO WILDCATS!
Well these are my picks for my first Wagering Wednesday. I hope you liked it. And as always, I might be wrong……….but I wouldn’t bet on it.
