We are 23 days away from the kickoff of the 2009 College football season and I could not be more excited. I love football. High School, College, NFL, heck I’ll even watch Arena…..what?….when?…Crap. Ok, the Arena league disbanded. But you get my point. I love football!

So let me be the first to say….”We need a playoff in college football”!!!! Now granted I’m not complaining too much. As a Gator fan, we’ve done ok over the past 3 years. But I have to get myself used to the fact that this will be Tebow’s las…las…..fina….fina……ok you know. Superman will be in the NFL next year. Now the so called experts say a +1 is what the NCAA needs. Now for those of you that don’t know what a +1 is, it simply means you add one game to the end of the Bowl games. Number 1 will play number 4 and number 2 will play number 3. Then the winners of each will play each other to determine the National Champion (+1). That’s great assuming that the “Microsoft Windows” of football, better known as the BCS computers, get the top 4 teams right. Good luck. I’m a “lets settle it on the field” kinda guy, so the whole BS computers (I know, BCS) is a joke. Lets take the top 8 teams, give 1 and 2 a first week bye, and play it out. “BUT WE’LL LOSE MONEY!!” Shut up ESPN. How are you gonna lose money by adding 4 additional games. That’s more tickets, more commercials and more naming rights to the games. Sounds like money to me.

Now, for those of you saying, “Slow down Rick, that’s crazy talk”. Well maybe you’re right. What was I thinking? I mean, we put a man on the moon, cured Polio, not to mention millions of people can communicate and transfer information all at once over the Internet (thanks Al Gore), how would playoffs work? I guess the playoffs in EVERY OTHER SPORT KNOWN TO MAN is a stupid idea and doesn’t work. What was I thinking? Sorry I wasted you time.
